So what is asbestos?

Asbestos is a collective term for a group of fibrous, microscopic minerals, known for its unique properties, longevity, durability, and strength. It is insoluble in water, resistant to fire, heat, corrosion, and similar factors, and can be present in air and soil.
In 2011, the Asbestos and Harmful Dust Hazard Prevention Law, 5771-2011, came into effect.
Asbestos is defined as harmful dust, a hazardous material, and an air pollutant. In accordance with Israeli law, and similar to Western countries, the production, import, trade, or any new use of asbestos or asbestos waste is prohibited.
Asbestos dust is associated with a long and detailed list of lung diseases, including cancer, due to the inhalation of small dust particles into the lungs.
Olenik Company holds a friable asbestos license and performs friable asbestos removal works, up to the legal disposal of asbestos at an authorized landfill site.
